MOBILE DATA SYSTEMS TO INTRODUCE FADEMARK (TM)
ANTI-COUNTERFEIT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION TO PHARMACEUTICAL & CONSUMER PACKAGED
GOODS INDUSTRIES
Special Showcase of the technology to be held at the 2011 NACDS Supply Chain & Logistics Conference
March 13, 2011, San Diego, California – Mobile Data Systems
launches its FadeMark (TM) anti-counterfeit technology solution to the Chain
Drug industry at the NACDS Supply Chain & Logistics Conference in San
Diego, California. This new technology will provide a cost-effective way to
identify and help to eliminate counterfeit merchandise, especially
pharmaceuticals.
The World Health Organization has reported that 10%-30% of
the world’s pharmaceutical supply may be counterfeit. Counterfeit
pharmaceuticals have caused numerous deaths and are a pervasive threat across
the globe. FadeMark (TM) is designed to stop this problem quickly and
efficiently.
FadeMark (TM) is a patent pending solution that implements
watermark technology on the exterior label of product packaging and interior
inserted print materials. This inexpensive technology provides unique
counterfeit protection as well as tracking capabilities, which help to
authenticate when and where a product was made, and who has touched it in the
supply chain. The watermarks can be authenticated with scanners that are
currently in use today at known retailers as well as on smartphones, which
makes the implementation of this technology highly accessible and seamless
within the current retailer, distributer, and manufacturer infrastructure.
“The FadeMark (TM) tracking technology
was created to protect the integrity of the entire distribution chain from
production through the wholesaler to the retail pharmacy” says Joe Spiteri,
CEO, Mobile Data Systems. “This groundbreaking
identification system is a user-friendly, cost-effective way for all parties to
ensure the origin and quality of products that they handle on a day-to-day
basis. Our ultimate goal is to protect the consumer from counterfeit, tainted
and potentially harmful bogus products. In addition, it can provide a way
for consumers to validate their medications as well as interact with
Pharmaceutical companies for information, medication updates, coupons and
wellness information.”
Mobile Data Systems (MDS) will be presenting at the NACDS
Supply Chain and Logistics Conference on March 14, 2011, at 1:00 PM.
